Frequently Asked Questions

Not as such — we're a bookshop you visit, and this site is mainly here to keep you up to date with what's on and what we love.

The exception is pre-orders. From time to time we secure a limited run of a signed or special edition, and we open those up to order through the site so you can reserve a copy before it lands. You still collect it from the shop.

Yes — our shop is wheelchair accessible. If you have any specific accessibility requirements or questions before visiting, please don't hesitate to get in touch via the contact form and we'll do our best to help.

When we have a pre-order running you'll see it in the menu and on our Pre-order page. You reserve and pay for your copy in advance, and we hold it for you at the shop.

We'll email you a confirmation straight away with your order reference, then get in touch as soon as your book arrives and is ready to collect. If there's nothing on the Pre-order page at the moment, it just means we don't have one running — keep an eye out, or subscribe and we'll let you know.

Pre-orders are for collection from the shop as standard — it keeps the price down and means we get to hand it to you ourselves.

That said, if collecting is difficult for you, get in touch and we'll do what we can to work something out.

We give an expected arrival on the pre-order page, based on what the publisher has told us. It's a genuine estimate rather than a promise — publication dates do sometimes move, and signed editions occasionally take a little longer to reach us.

If a date shifts, we'll email you and let you know. You're free to cancel at any point if the new timing doesn't suit you.

Yes, and you don't need to give a reason. You can cancel at any time between placing your order and 14 days after you collect it, for a full refund.

The quickest way is our cancellation form — you'll need the order reference from your confirmation email. You can also just reply to that email. Refunds go back to the card you paid with within 14 days. There's more detail in our Terms of Sale.

We'll hold your book for a month from the day we email you to say it's arrived — that email tells you the date to collect by, and we'll endeavour to remind you before it passes.

If we haven't heard from you by the end of the month, we'll cancel the order, refund you in full, and put the book back on the shelves. You won't be charged for it — but do get in touch if you need longer and we'll happily hold it.

Yes! You can purchase a Cupid's Bow e-gift card online via Square. They're available in amounts of £10, £15, £20, and £50, with a minimum load of £10 and a maximum of £100 — perfect if you want to treat a fellow book lover.

Head to the gift card page to buy one.

Once purchased, the recipient receives a digital gift card by email. They can then redeem it in store at the point of sale — just show us the email or the gift card code and we'll apply it to their purchase.

E-gift cards never expire and can be used across multiple visits until the balance runs out.

No — gift cards cannot be used to purchase other gift cards.
